Beat Burnout – Christie’s 2025 Health Hacks for a Happier, Healthier You
A few years ago, I hit rock bottom after experiencing severe burnout. It was a wake-up call—I realised that if I didn’t prioritise my health, I wouldn’t be able to show up for the people and projects that mattered most to me. The road to recovery wasn’t quick or easy; it took me three years of consistent, small steps to rebuild my energy, health, and balance. Along the way, I discovered simple yet powerful habits that transformed my life.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed or stuck, know that change doesn’t happen overnight, but it does happen. Small actions, taken daily, compound into life-changing results. Here are the 10 habits that helped me overcome burnout and create a healthier, happier life—I hope they inspire you to take your own small steps toward well-being.
1. Start Your Morning with Yoga
Yoga has been a game-changer for me. I aim for just 10 minutes of yoga most mornings to help me wake up my body and centre my mind. It’s my way of setting the tone for a positive and calm day. You don’t need to be a yoga expert—just a few simple stretches or a short flow is enough to feel the benefits.
2. Take a Walk Every Day
Walking is one of the simplest yet most effective habits you can adopt. I make it a point to walk for at least 30 minutes a day. It clears my mind, helps me stay active, and gives me a chance to reconnect with nature. Over time, this small habit has made a huge difference in my physical and mental health.
3. Change Your Beliefs, Change Your Life
This one’s personal: I used to struggle with self-doubt and limiting beliefs. Over time, I realised that what you believe about yourself shapes your reality. There was a time that I believed that my body couldn’t heal itself! I also started replacing negative thoughts with empowering affirmations like, “I am strong, capable, and deserving.” It’s amazing how shifting your mindset can transform your outlook on life.
4. Drink Water First Thing in the Morning
Hydration is so important! The first thing I do every morning is drink a big glass of water. It wakes up my system and keeps me energised throughout the day. I’ve found that staying hydrated helps my skin, my focus, and my mood. It’s such a small step, but the benefits are huge. Tip to increase hydration habits: Add your Energy & Gut INTU powders to your water bottle throughout the day.
5. Eat Healthy, One Meal at a Time
Healthy eating doesn’t have to be complicated. I stay away from processed food and focus on whole, nourishing foods like fresh vegetables, fruits, lean proteins, and whole grains. I’ve learnt that planning meals ahead of time makes it so much easier to stick to good choices. Even if you start with just one healthy meal a day, it will build momentum.
6. Practise Gratitude Daily
Taking a moment to appreciate what’s good in my life has been incredibly grounding. Every night, I jot down three things I’m grateful for, no matter how small. Over time, this simple practice has shifted my perspective and made me more optimistic.
7. Build a Calming Bedtime Routine
Good sleep is non-negotiable for me. I’ve created a bedtime routine that helps me wind down—like turning off screens an hour before bed and reading or meditating. Quality sleep is essential for staying energised and focused during the day. Tip: Add Sleep & Skin Renewal to your routine an hour before bed to get some quality zzzz’s!
8. Take Micro-Breaks
I’ve learnt that stepping away from work for just a few minutes can do wonders for my productivity. Every hour, I take a quick break to stretch, breathe deeply, or simply rest my eyes. These micro-breaks prevent burnout and keep me feeling fresh.
9. Meditate for Clarity
Meditation is my secret weapon for staying centred. Even five minutes of mindfulness or guided meditation can help me clear my mind and refocus. It’s one of those habits that gets easier and more rewarding the more you practise it.
10. Surround Yourself with Positive Energy
The people you spend time with have a big impact on your mindset and motivation. I make it a priority to surround myself with supportive, positive individuals who inspire me to be my best. Positive relationships fuel my energy and keep me on track.
The truth is, overcoming burnout and achieving balance isn’t about big leaps—it’s about taking small, intentional steps every day. Those little habits multiply over time, creating powerful, lasting changes. Whether you’re at the start of your journey or just looking to fine-tune your routine, I encourage you to try one of these habits today.
Remember: progress, not perfection, is the key to transformation. You’ve got this!
